By visiting manualfor.life or using app.manualfor.life, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit content.

Public submissions

Traces you submit may be displayed publicly in the archive, featured on the site, indexed by search engines, and shared by others through links or screenshots. Treat every submission as something that could be read by anyone, anywhere, for a long time.

User responsibility

You are responsible for what you submit. Do not post content that includes or promotes:

• private personal information (yours or someone else’s)
• threats, violence, or intimidation
• hate speech or harassment
• illegal activity or content that breaks the law
• spam or deceptive material
• copyrighted text you do not have the right to share

Write as you would for a stranger in a public library — honest, brief, and respectful of others.

Moderation

Manualfor.life may review, hide, or remove content at any time to protect the archive and the people who use it. We are not obligated to publish every submission, and we may act without prior notice when content appears harmful, abusive, or out of step with the spirit of the project.

No guarantee of permanence

The project is built as an archive, but we cannot promise that any Trace, page, or the service itself will remain available forever. Sites change, infrastructure fails, and priorities shift. Use the archive in that spirit — grateful when something endures, without assuming immortality.

Intellectual property

You keep ownership of the words you write. By submitting a Trace, you grant Manualfor.life a non-exclusive license to display, preserve, share, and promote that Trace as part of the archive — including on this site, in the app, and in materials that explain or celebrate the project.

The Manualfor.life name, design, and site materials remain ours. Please do not misrepresent your relationship with the project or use our branding in a way that implies endorsement without permission.

No professional advice

Traces are personal reflections from ordinary people. They are not medical, legal, psychological, financial, or other professional advice. Nothing in the archive should replace consultation with a qualified professional when you need one.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
